Me!
Me!

I loved working from home during the pandemic. Flexibility and independence--not being told what to do and when to do it--I loved it!

When I left teaching, I decided to start my own business, but I wasn't sure what to do. I'm not crafty, I'm not a fan of selling product, but I am a fan of writing. I decided that I wanted to devote myself to writing professionally.

A Writer's Ink was started in 2020, but I didn't have much time to work on growing my business. In 2024, I found a virtual assistant training program that spoke to me, and I joined it. I decided to work on my niche, writing, because I'm passionate about creating copy, for example, that helps small businesses.

For the past six months, I've worked as a blogger, copywriting, editor, newsletter creator, and memoirist, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my work. Currently, I publish articles on Medium and Substack; I've had 135 articles published on Medium in the last year. I'm working on growing a Substack following.

I've written copy for a tech start-up that needs a website revamp; in addition, I've created a couple of blog posts for them and done some editing of other posts.

A general contractor (small business owner) needed his website updated, and he wanted to find other ways to engage current and future clients. I created a blog for him and a newsletter. He's received positive feedback for both.

I love running my business and being my own boss. Coming from a rigid profession of rules and expectations, I'm enjoying the freedom and flexibility of freelance writing.

Research, writing, and editing are truly my passions, and I love helping clients express themselves clearly and effectively in writing.
